Community Education Whangārei (CEW) Kamo Whangarei
Upskill or explore computer and art techniques with short workshops at Whangārei's community education CEW. CEW is based at Kamo High School and provides a range of classes during the school year. Some are short Saturday workshops with all the materials provided (a great bargain). Some are computer based courses that run over 3 or 4 weeks, for one night a week. The school term classes are scheduled at the beginning of each term and are listed in a booklet at Whangarei libraries, can be viewed on the CEW website, or they can be emailed directly to you. In this hands-on workshop, for Facebook beginners, we will step through the process of creating a Free Facebook Page including how to manage your privacy settings. Use Facebook to help market and grow your business. Bring along your own images and text, or use our practice samples.

Are you struggling to use your iPad? Learn what you need to know to start enjoying your iPad. In this hands-on workshop for beginners we will explore iPad techniques including using the internet, APPs, navigation, eBooks, and photos. Express Your Creativity
Saturday 5 Dec, 9am-2pm
Free your inner artist with quick and relaxing watercolour pastel techniques. In this hands-on workshop you will use a variety of resources including pastels, pencil, pen, acrylic paint, gesso and printed text. No artistic ability necessary. This is all about having fun and expressing yourself through art - and remembering why kids enjoy making art. No experience needed and all materials provided.

About Shelley
Tutor, Designer, Artist
Shelley has been passionate about art, design, and publishing since childhood. She's worked at a range of design businesses including a busy Magazine house in Auckland, Advertising studios, the in-house marketing department at Telecom, and her small graphic design studio with her husband (for private tuition and design). In the late 90s she helped setup (and teach) the NZQA classes for the private tertiary school Media Design School in Auckland. Now Shelley teaches privately in Whangarei, designs, and teaches a range of workshops at CEW. She particularly enjoys helping folks explore modern technology opportunities and discover their own inner creativity.
